Phase 1 - Fermentation

The fermentation process determines the quality of the compost. Our Fancom 751 climate computer makes sure this process runs smoothly. Therefore it does not matter whether you work with aerated floors, open or half open bunkers or fermentation tunnels. The compost made at the end of this process is ideally suitable for the next production process.

The climate computer offers freely adjustable fermentation phases, controlling the ventilation of two sections depending on time, compost temperature and degree of oxygen in the compost. The computer controls the ventilation and is based on a variable clock. The time varies, depending on the oxygen level in the compost. It is possible for the optimum oxygen level to be affected by the compost temperature. The temperature of the supply air can be adjusted by using a heating system or an air mixing valve. The supply and return pressure can be adjusted.

When the compost temperature and the degree of oxygen deviate from the desired value, the computer will issue a warning, enabling you to react adequately. It is possible to link a number of sections to the central supply and exhaust units; even environmentally friendly exhaust systems can be linked to the central control system through a computer.
